$INSIDER offers several subscriptions from in house and third party options. $INSIDER Premium offers a variety of portfolio options to customers. Some subscriptions may require additional costs..
The value that you see within the app is the market value of your current positions plus the remainder of the buying power you have given to us to use. If you set up $INSIDER with Nancy Pelosi with $1,000, we might be able to only use $980 or $995 of the available buying power. The remaining buying power we still take into account when calculating the account value you see in the app.Additionally, your $INSIDER account will not take into account any additional stocks owned outside of the $INSIDER controlled portfolios. If you see a significant difference in $INSIDER allocation and your brokerage or if your $INSIDER shows more than in your brokerage, feel free to reach out to the $INSIDER team on X.
On iOS:
If you set up $INSIDER outside of market hours, the trades will not go through until the next market opening at 9:30 am EST. If you set up $INSIDER within market hours (9:30 am EST to 4 pm EST) and have not seen any trades go through please note that the trades can be delayed up to 15 minutes. If the trades have not been placed with your brokerage within 15 minutes, please reach out to us at the $INSIDER team on X.
The money you allocate to $INSIDER stays within your brokerage account. Money is never transferred or exchanged. Your funds stay with the custodian. We do not hold your money or your stocks. When you "allocate" money to be used by $INSIDER, this only tells us how much of your money we are allowed to use towards trading stocks in your account. This money never leaves your brokerage, and no bank transfers take place.
Yes! $INSIDER+ subscribers are allowed to follow as many trackers as they please and get all trades copied - as long as they have the buying power in their brokerage to do so. Basic members can also launch as many trackers as they want - however no future trades will be placed besides the initial holdings. Please note, additional subscription fees may apply. To add additional portfolios:
We automatically balance your portfolio based on new allocation or creator activity. $INSIDER matches your portfolio proportionally to the creator. If the creator buys into a new position, this will decrease their percentage stake of their current positions. To rebalance, $INSIDER will buy and sell proportionally to those positions.
When you link your brokerage with us, we proxy your authentication to your brokerage, then use the authentication tokens to fetch the data necessary to set up your account with $INSIDER. We then maintain connection by using these tokens (hashed tokens) to fetch new tokens before they expire. We use bank-level security to store any and all data associated with your account. We work very similarly to Plaid. You may revoke our access to your account by following the prompts in your brokerage.
No, $INSIDER does not copy any short positions and will not place any short position trades with your brokerage. $INSIDER also does not invest in crypto or options.
We use your brokerage's API to place trades. When you connect your brokerage with us, we are given authentication tokens (no username or password) to make requests to your brokerage on your behalf. We use these tokens to buy and sell stocks according to your tracker's trades.
Yes, we may place margin trades if your brokerage account allows it depending on your margin settings. $INSIDER will trade on margin based on your chosen allocation in $INSIDER and your margin buying power.
$INSIDER's system is built to invest what you tell it to. If you invest $1,000 and sell $500 manually, $INSIDER can potentially rebuy stocks because it thinks you want to have $1,000 allocated. If you are wanting to remove stocks or allocation, the best practice is to use $INSIDER's withdraw function to remove funds or the blacklist function to prevent the future buys..
$INSIDER does not have access to sell your stocks outside of $INSIDER. Brokerages do have certain rules when it comes to brokerage accounting methods, some brokers maybe different. Check your brokerage accounting settings to ensure understanding of their accounting practices when stocks are sold (i.e. FIFO).
For our international customers keen on keeping up to date with our creators, we are working on international brokerage support. To be added to the international waitlist, please message the $INSIDER team on X.
Immediately! Our systems will pick up the report as soon as it is filed and will update your positions accordingly. You may see a slight delay due to execution times - this is largely due to your brokerage not filling the trade request as quickly as we'd like. We are continually working on improving this latency in order to get the best fills via your brokerage.
